Every child begins differently. At Open House Week, we will help your family identify the pathway that best supports your child’s next stage of growth.
ARIA: Ages 6–8 | Individual guidance + collaborative music-making
ARIA is AGMS’s signature pathway for young beginners and younger transfer students. Each 60-minute weekly class includes focused Solo Time with an instructor and Ensemble Time with peers.
This blended approach gives children personal guidance while also helping them build confidence, creativity, friendship, listening skills, and the joy of making music together. ARIA is especially well suited to children who benefit from a social, team-centred learning environment.
PRELUDE: Ages 9 and up | Focused individual study
PRELUDE is designed for older beginners and transfer students who are ready for a more independent, traditional conservatory-style approach to music learning.
Students begin with focused 30-minute weekly solo lessons and build their skills through individualized instruction, clear goals, steady practice habits, and thoughtful musical challenge. PRELUDE is an excellent fit for students who are ready to develop their musical voice through sustained, personalized study.
What happens during your visit
Your Open House Week visit is designed to help both you and your child feel comfortable, informed, and welcomed.
During your scheduled visit, you can expect:
A warm welcome and check-in at the Studio.
A short tour of the learning spaces.
An opportunity to meet an AGMS teacher and learn about our approach.
A brief class or lesson experience suited to your child’s selected pathway.
A parent conversation about ARIA and PRELUDE, including the best fit for your child.
Time to ask questions and discuss fall enrolment or a later monthly start.
If AGMS feels like the right fit, our team can help you take the next step toward enrolment. New students may begin at the start of a later month between September and May, subject to availability.

Who is Open House Week for?
Open House Week is for families considering enrolment in ARIA or PRELUDE. It is especially helpful for children beginning lessons, transferring from another program, or looking for a musical environment that is both structured and encouraging.
Does my child need previous music experience?
No. Many AGMS students begin with no previous experience. We will help you choose the program that best matches your child’s age, readiness, and learning needs.
What is the difference between ARIA and PRELUDE?
ARIA is designed for children ages 6–8 and combines individual instruction with ensemble learning in a 60-minute weekly class. PRELUDE is designed for older beginners and transfer students, typically ages 9 and up, who are ready for focused individual lessons in a more traditional conservatory-style structure.
Which session should I reserve?
Reserve an ARIA visit if your child is approximately age 6–8 and would enjoy a collaborative group setting alongside individualized support.
Reserve a PRELUDE visit if your child is age 9 or older, or is a transfer student who would benefit from a focused, independent lesson structure.
If you are unsure, reserve the option that appears closest to your child’s age and experience. We will gladly help confirm the best fit when you arrive.
Is there a fee to attend?
There is no charge to attend Open House Week. To reserve a space, you will be asked to place a card on file. Your card will not be charged when you attend. A $7 no-show fee applies only if a reserved visit is not used.
What if we are not ready to enrol right away?
That is completely fine. Open House Week is designed to help your family explore the options and make an informed decision. We will help you identify the next step that makes the most sense for your child.
Can students begin only in September?
No. Where space is available, new students may also begin at the start of a later month between September and May.

Your reservation helps us prepare a welcoming, age-appropriate experience for your child. A card is held only to secure the space; there is no charge when you attend. The $7 fee applies only to a no-show.
