FunTime Music

Imagine you and your child joyfully singing together, exploring new sounds and instruments, asking you to hold hands to move together. Creating friendships that will last for a lifetime.

Those early years go by so quickly! and you want to enjoy and savor every moment. You also want to give your child every possible advantage. You want to fling every window of opportunity wide open for learning and bonding, and you want to share and gift your child with the love for music.

In FunTime Music your child’s musical potential develops through play and exploration. Your child will feel confident to try new things with your encouragement and modeling. The love and appreciation for music will grow in your child’s heart – and yours- every week with the kind and expert guidance of your music specialist.

At AGMS we offer the best start for musical growth. Our in-house program is based on music education best practices which also support learning and brain development. We build on this solid base as your child goes on to learn to play a musical instrument as the next step in their journey of musical growth.

Young children thrive in the safety offered by the presence of their parents and interactions with them.

You will feel joy and pride as you see your child’s musical growth each week and will have opportunities to share with other like-minded families the awes of parenting.

Through play and exploration your child will develop their singing voice and the ability to keep a steady beat when clapping. Your child will also learn to discriminate and describe sounds, will develop coordination when moving and fine motor skills when playing various percussion instruments.

The development of these skills will provide them with the readiness to undertake the learning of a musical instrument later on.

You want to keep a balanced mix of activities for your child. You also want your child to be involved in activities that provide a long lasting positive impact on their growth.

FunTime Music is offered during the academic year. Families attend classes from the end of September through May. The program is organized into two 10-week-long units with a break between the two units.

This structure provides your child with a balance between activity-learning and recovery-growth periods that will allow your child to get the maximum benefit of a continued and well paced music program.

Learning music contributes to the brain development of your child

The class supports the development of listening, tonal (singing) and rhythmic skills of your growing child.

Each week your child will love exploring the many ways they can use their voice, imitating and creating their own dance-movement steps, and becoming more skilled at playing instruments while discovering the joy of ensemble playing.

Through these musical experiences your child will also be strengthening her language development, self-control, attention, and cooperation, and will foster her sense of independence. All these skills will give your child the readiness to undertake to learn a specific musical instrument.

Your child's love for music and self-confidence will grow class after class

Parents join in the fun during the last portion of the class (10 minutes)
